  • At the outset let me say I honour McCain's service, but the point Clark was making about serving in the military does not automatically qualify a person to become a president was not an attack on McCain personally or on his record. But McCain would like everyone to think otherwise thus distract the public from the issue.

    Clark's statements are important:
  • "Those on the left are only guaranteeing the future of such slimy attacks"? I think the fact that the same Swift Boaters (ie Corsi and O'neill et al) are again running ads against the Democratic nominee guarantees they'll continue. Democratic inaction won't help.

What would stop these attacks? Holding liars accountable. Neither the press nor the public are doing that. As it is, the slimesters' books regularly make the best sellers list and they get new clients every election cycle for their ads.

I will commend those who don't make baseless attacks, because it means we don't scare half of America to fear the other. I don't know if it's effective, but it's the moral thing to do.
