I started taking Ambien about 3 years ago. When I first took it I did make the random phone calls and would eat in my sleep but it worked. I only took it when I absolutely needed to. I stopped for about a year then the insomnia started again and I took it again and the side effects weren't there. I still take it every once in a while when I really need it (maybe once a month) and the side effects are still gone. Just sleep and I don't feel groggy in the morning.

I live in France, a European country.

From here, we have the feeling that the american government is making war everywhere because he doesn’t know anything about the people of the world outside its borders.

How can you have such power and be so ignorant?…

I believe it’s not really ignorance but also a way of preserving a “way of live” regardless of all the disasters it may provoque (human or ecological)…

But we hope very deeply that something will happen after these elections…

Only last week the British Prime Minister congratulated Obama on hist economic plan relating to housing.
The 'un-written' rule is that a head of state never interferes in another country's election ... and the PM's support did just that.

If you listen to the clip, it is clear that when he is asked this question he responds, but has NO clue what the reporter is asking about. He delivers a "safe, canned response and is suprised when she asks again. At one point he seems to hesitate, wondering if he has perhaps made a mistake, but instead of clarifying he simply repeats his canned response, while getting more strident each time. I am deeply concerned about his cognitive abilities and his overall health. It is frightening to think he is considered fit to be in the White House, in charge of our military, and that his second in command would be Gov. Palin, who is untested, unprepared and lacks a real depth of understanding on most issues.

John McCain graduated approximately 4th from the bottom of his Naval Academy class of over 890 students. During his interview, he not only exhibited incredible ignorance of geo-politics, he was also markedly impatient and terse with the interviewer - even as she tried to right his sinking mental ship ["what about me what?']. I can't imagine a more unsuitable candidate for president of the United States at this critical juncture with both foreign policy and the economy at the forefront of issues....wait, I just remembered who his running mate is.

About these 'hockey moms'! Where I live they rate right up there with cheer leading moms and children's beauty pagent moms so I wouldn't be too excited about describing myself as one. Palin seems to think it is a jewel in her imaginary tiara. Can you imagine when McCain is put on even more medication or bourbon or whatever causes him make such ridiculous comments - this woman is next in line should the ignorant masses vote for 4 more years of the GOP. OMG Spain is most likely laughing their heads off as we (at least I) cry our tears of disappointment.

As a Canadain, I shake my head at the thought of this guy at the helm of the most powerful nation on Earth. I don't know what is more pathetic - the desperation of the Republican campaign in all its negativity or the right-wing media and bloggers who are trying with all their might to slag the Democrats and push their man and the Neo-Con agenda further into the 21st century.

Wake up America. Now is the time to show the world you are with us by electing a forward thinking "Change agent" (THE ORIGINAL ONE...) Don't even think of four more years of... Aw - don't get me started on him...

Ok. all I can say is WOW! This is really sad. And to make it so bad, he snapped at her when he didn't understand her question. He didn't say, you know excuse me would you mind repeating that...nothing just 'snap!' The little things really do set him off...now I see why they say that he doesn't have the temperment to be president. This dude truly scares me!

This robotic old man with absolutely no capacity for deep thought is on the verge of the presidency, where he will continue the very policies that 8 in 10 Americans disagree with. There is one reason for this, and one reason only: the American public is incredibly uninformed and stupid. We don't vote on issues, because we have no capacity to understand issues, so we vote on slogans. John McCain offers nothing but meaningless, empty slogans, and that is what voters respond to. It is a third rate country.

Adam, I've often wondered why the race is so close, and after talking extensively to an Oklahoman Republican-turned-independent, the reason is that a large number of Republicans, particularly the conservatives and extreme right, would rather die than commit the "sin" of voting for a Democrat. I haven't read everything everywhere, but has anyone pointed out he must have thought she was talking about the "Zapatistas" in Mexico? I'm sure that's what he meant, even after the lady tried in vain to put him on track. The guy can't even pivot mentally, from talking about his enemies to his friends. He's truly lost it.

As an Australian, If this guy gets in, my days of sticking up for U.S. people are over. I'll give up, this guy shouldn't even be close to Barack.

Listening to the interview, it is clear from McCain's responses that he did not fully understand what was being asked. This is not something I was able to pick up from a transcript I read in an alternate article. For example, when the host tries to clarify her question by saying "Ok, what about Europe, I'm talking about the president of Spain?" McCain clearly mishears "Europe" as "you" and so responds "what about me what?
That said, McCain should have picked up on the inital Zapatero reference (he knows who Zapatero is, even if after talking about Latin America a switch to Spain might be left-field) so he cannot realistically claim his response was due to a misunderstanding - the only thing he can do is stand by his vague and childish commitment to "only meet with friends".
This man's position on foreign policy remains as steadfastly ideological as the Bush administration and will only continue to undermine the position of respect the US once held in such matters.
