Palin as Working-Class Hero?

Started by washingtonindependent · 9 months ago

Palin often calls herself working class. But over the course of her political career, when faced with policy choices on issues important to blue-collar voters, Palin rarely breaks in their favor. ... Continue reading »

  • A lot of this infromation about tax rates and spending pre-dates Pail become governor. Th article is also incorrect when it state she signed a bill in 2004. Palin was still a mayor then.

  • Look
Another biased article based on flawed data and malicious intentions. Of all the 4 candidates Palin's family has the lowest income.

Obama earned $6 million in 2007 is not even mentioned.
  • But what does her income in relationship to the other candidates have to do with the fact that her policies do not support "Joe Sixpack" voters? The point of the article is that she says one thing while doing another. Maybe if the other candidates were claiming to be "Joe Sixpack" like Palin is they would need to address their high income levels, but they're at least acknowledging that they're way better off than working class Americans.

Your bias for Palin seems to have prevented you from reading the article accurately.
  • I don't see this as a biased article. I think all the candidates records are legitimate. I don't think Obama or McCain has perfect policies but we all have to sift through them and vote for the candidate that has our best economic interests in mind. I just want to know issue based facts like where they stand on taxes, health care etc.I don't care about all the personal stuff and i'm sick of hearing about it from all sides.
  • Also I should say that i looked into both candidates tax plans. I kept hearing McCain say Obama would raise our taxes and Obama saying he wouldn't. I didn't know who to believe. After looking at both plans our taxes would not go up under either candidate. However our family would get a bigger tax break under Obama. Under McCains plan it appears that the wealthier you are the bigger tax break you get.
  • You need to read more and watch MSM less.
The 6M was from the sell of his 2 books............sheesh
I guess republicans do not know how to read.....
  • This is disappointing. These are the very issues (health care , taxes, retirement) that concern our family most.
  • Not even close.
She is nothing but a hack and a sorry one at that.
Also, a disgrace to women everywhere.
  • I am an Alaskan Native living outside of my home state of Alaska. The author states That Todd Palin and his children are eligible for o federally funded comprehensive health care. Sorry to quibble with you, but I believe one has to be 1/4 or more native blood to qualify for that subsidized health care. Todd is 1/8th Yu'pik.

Also, I have read that Governor Palin has been too busy to meet with or address native concerns and issues. She has not demonstrated a real regard and interest for her so-called regular folks, dontcha know?
  • if McCain wins... Someone needs to take Todd Palin to a damn barbershop. If we are stuck with this white trash bimbo as VP, we sure don't need a goatee in the White House. They also needs to part his hair, he looks like a damn goomba challmation.
The 80's overdone Dynasty make-up is a bit much too. Damn, they look as bad....oh, hell, they are that bad.

Those two at any state dinner where they are not serving the soup is ludicrous.
  • Tosh and Noticed - Great "Factual" research.

Ryan - Great point. Isn't it interesting the media is knee deep in this woman's personal business, but we have heard VERY little about the other candidates personal life in this level of detail. Personally, I feel for here, regardless of my political stance. Trust me, Biden and Obama have enough dirt to start my own farm with. let;s not kid ourselves.

JC- Lt the chip on your shoulder fall off. It's weighing you down. A hack? I doubt anyone who can run a budget in the + in any of our states isa a hack. I wish more governors had the ability to do the same. E

A lot of this infromation about tax rates and spending pre-dates Pail become governor. Th article is also incorrect when it state she signed a bill in 2004. Palin was still a mayor then. Especially mine. A disgrace? - Based on what, being nervous? Learing issues outside of what she HAD to be concerned with in Alaska? Your kidding right? Have you ever found yourself applying for a job you though might be alittle above your skillset, but trying to acheive it none the less? Then YOU are the same as her. It's the pot calling the kettel black. If you haven't done this before, well your just one of those folks I jumpoed over in the ladder of success b/c your incapable of thinking bigger and better for yourself. God love ya, people like me NEED people like you so we can get ahead. Bitterness will only destroy any chances you have at succedding. People see it like a big red beacon.

Madeline, Madeline, Madeline - There is a word in the south that descibes you - "New" money. New money is where someone is prosperous, but hasn't had it long enough for it to change their "True" colors. Classless is a good way of describing people in this group. They look down their nose at people b/c of the way they look, or what they do for a living. Their typically not that smart and got their oney due to some stroke of good luck or fortune. They are not taken seriously by either those who work f9or a living or the truly rich. They seldomly bring any intelligence to a conversation and usually resort to saying something stupid, albeit honest, that is on their mind. Note to you - THEY MAKE THEMSELVES IRRELEVANT.

Personally, I RESPECT any person who uses their hands to earn a living. Never know when YOU may depend on someone who has their talents. Try a peice of humble pie Madeline. It might do you some good.
