Maybe McCain's staff should have thoroughly vetted the VP candidate themselves. Consistent with what we have heard in national politics for the last several elections, every word that comes out of her mouth seems to be either a lie, a half-truth, or contradictory to something she said previously. If we want real change, and if either party wants to give it to us, start with putting an end to the spin.

Ayers was a bystander. It was not Obama's decision to have the party there. He was only in attendance because that was where the torch was being passed to him. Alice Palmer chose to have the meeting there. Obama was only there because Palmer was passing the Illinois legislative duties to him.

Is this all they have... So what. Point is she eliminated something that wasn't needed. I think the tax payers came out ahead. Nobama's terrorist friends were active members of the Weathermen underground. No one is implying that his middle name has anything to do with it.

If you review Palin's speech she said she put it on Ebay. She didn't say she sold it on Ebay. Here's the quote from the text of her speech:

"That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay."

Putting something on Ebay is not the same as selling it on Ebay, as many of you may conclude if you bother to engage more than one or two neurons. Ms. McGann and the rest of you accusing her of lying didn't event take the time to check the text of the speech before lighting into her. Shame on you for not even bothering to review the speech, which is readily available online.

By the way, is "vet" the buzzword for this election like "gravitas" was for a previous one? How quaint...

You reallty do need to vet -especially your bias.

If you read the transcript of Gov. Palin's speech (easily Googled ) You wil find that she said , put it on ebay."
Nothing was said about selling the plane on ebay.

I wonder if you are working as hard on parsing Obama's and Biden's words, or are you as certain as most of your peers that they have been etched onto stone tabletsand brought down from the mountain to us idol worshippers.

"On Friday, McCain exaggerated Palin's actions regarding the state airplane. In her speeches, she has said she put the plane up for sale on EBay, carefully omitting that it didn’t sell there and was sold, at a loss, through a plane broker. McCain's version was that "she took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on EBay. And made a profit!"

Can we get numbers as to what it is costing Alaska to transport those prisoners back and forth to Arizona via public transport and the US Marshal's service?
Until we do we have no idea whether this is actually saving money or not. Also, was it really a *luxury* jet? I somehow doubt that appellation given it's usage.
Too, I'd like to know what other usages it was put to, and how much it is costing AK to provide those uses as well. Alaska relies heavily on air transport for nearly everything and if that plane was what the Governor used to travel around the state, or state legislators, etc... there may actually be a dollar loss here. Can't talk about it until we have the facts... ALL the facts.
Meantime, McCain DID lie.... out and out... he even said she made a "profit' selling it on e-bay.... I watched his speech and I heard him say it. She misled by omission and he out and out told a fabrication.
