"Joe the plumber" wants to move from being a "plumber" to a "small business owner" where profits from his company along with his salery will but him abover the $250,000 income range. He's more than just a plumber!
As an owner of a small company you generaly show your profits as personal income to avoid the much higher corporation tax.
If you as the investor in a company pay yourself $100,000 and your company makes $150,000 in profits...guess what, your rich and are taxed higher.
That means less to re-invest in the company, less to give to employee's!!
