What did McCain lealrn form the Keating FIve?
He clearly did not learn the important lesson that deregulation of the S&L industry cost Americans their pensions and savings.
The same push to deregulate has cost us $700 billion so far in this ruination.
McCain did not learn anything important form that scandal that al ost cost him everything.
I think that it should have cost him everything.

No matter why you think Obama is not worthy to be even a DOG-CATCHER, you speak so negatively about a man who:

worked his way through an Ivy League school with only merit--NOT race-based--scholarships and heavy loans;

who studied Constitutional Law for a decade;

who was active in community organizing and other means to improve life for the mostly poor people around his area and continued those goals as a leader;

who read the Intelligence report BEFORE passing the judgment that the available information and our military experts demanded, AGAINST the Iraq War-enabling legislation;

who has supported the troops in nearly every piece of legislation they needed, while McCain has consistently voted against their needs, even though he didn't believe in that war;

whose policies have been advocated by most experts and are dredited as being exactly what is needed to fix the economy, to keep this disaster from happening again, and even--had the Republicans permitted such changes--to have prevented or severely minimized our current economic crisis.

I thought you might simply be unaware of how black churches encourage pride in their culture, stoke activism in politics to improve race and culture issues in our nation, and work in the community to make it a more positive and enabling environment.

That maybe you didn't know that patriotism requires admitting what a nation has done wrong as well as supporting its good acts.

That perhaps you hadn't yet learned that Obama wasn't present for his pastor's rants that were seen as over the line, nor did he espouse or teach any violence, hatred, or race-based aggrandizement.

That you might simply not be aware that Obama's "relationship" with a criminal was the relationship of a home buyer to a dealer who was not known to him beorehand and gave him NO special price, and that the terrorist who is supposedly Obama's friend was merely a neighbor who served--alongside many others--in organizations Obama worked with in getting help to poor children and school programs.

Then, I read your last line and realized you simply can't stand a black man to have any degree of power, not even over the fate of stray dogs, let alone over yourself. Now, I hope you're just a racist with no intention of educating yourself about the untruth of things that make you feel vindicated in letting your bigotry keep you from even considering Obama's qualifications.

THIS is the ONLY reason any racism cards are pulled by any Obama supporters--because people like you dismiss Obama's extensive and highly relevant experience, education, and governing and policy successes WITHOUT EVEN LEARNING ABOUT THEM, and refuse to bother looking into this history while at the same time believing every scandalous and repeatedly-proven-false email or news report about nonexistent dangerous elements of his past.

Maybe you don't care enough about our nation enough to take the few moments to review Obama's record, how consistently he has been proven right in his policy choices and stances, how his advocacy of the very plans deemed best able to dig us out of our hole and prevent it from happening again has been constant and highly supported by experts.

Maybe you are so full of hatred and bigotry--or just so unfamiliar with the English language--that you believe it's unpatriotic of a black woman to say that seeing a strong, capable, and qualified black man running for president--her husband--made her VERY PROUD of America for the FIRST TIME IN HER ADULT LIFE.

Maybe none of that's any excuse, because a GOOD CITIZEN of a democratic republic would base their vote not on their own race-based discomfort or refusal to challenge an innate sense of superiority or anything else that is mere distraction--a PATRIOT would base his or her vote and assessment of candidate qualifications on facts, on candidate policy and judgment and record, on the important issues and candidates' intentions regarding them, and most of all, on the needs of our nation.

And what democracy would want, as a citizen with voting rights, somebody who lets prejudice and rumor decide their vote without bothering to learn the truth about the candidate they disparage?

He was the only POW who did not receive his promotions while in captivity. All the others were promoted on schedule. He should have gotten at least one, if not two promotions while a POW. A court martial was considered but was dropped because the military wanted to bury it under the rug, didn't want the controversy and wanted all the POWs treated the same when they got home. Most Vietnam Veterans groups oppose McCain. They have a nickname for him, songbird. Look it up.

Okay. I checked the video. Rezko went to jail for what he did and the investigation said Obama was not involved or had knowledge of any of what Rezko did. GWB and Ken Lay were buddy buddies and Enron robbed the state of California and the country of billions. So I guess you think GWB should have gone to jail with Kenny Boy because they were good friends and Lay donated money to GWB's campaign. If this is your reason for voting McCain, you were never much of a democrat. If you have an issue with abortion, I suggest you don't get one. You might also want to take a class in American government, too.

Palin is saying that Obama is a terrorist because he served on the board of an educational reform group that included a 1960s radical who is now a college professor. Yet her husband, until very recently, was a member of the Alaska Independence Party whose founder and followers expressed extreme hatred for the U.S. and advocated secession. Just a couple of quotes from Joe Vogler: "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government and I won't be buried under their damn flag." Todd Palin has yet to say one single word to the press. I guess the McCain campaign is afraid he might voice some of his extremist views. Either that or his wife doesn't let him talk. She looks like she wears the pants in that family anyway.

Um excuse me and that is your defense to Mccains Keating 5 issue, and Obama was 8 when Ayers supposely bombed something, the problem with Mccain Keating issue is that his high up friends got him off in the Keating Scandal and he hasnt learned his lesson because he did the exact same deregulation crap the ended up with the Wall Street collapse, so your excuse is simple to say the least.

My challenge to you is go do your research on Palin and her issues because a vote for Mccain as president is the same as voting for Palin as president because McCains actions shows his health is not good.

Please, get over the patriotic diatribe. I personally haven't felt too proud of my country for the last eight years. That does not mean that I don't love it, it only menas that I disagree with all of the terrible events - greed, unjust war, tax cuts for the rich, erosion of civil rights, prejudice against gays, constant rants from extreme right and the extreme left on the radio as well as in TV, the list goes on and on. So that is a nonissue. the fact is that McCain has not offered one single policy that is any different from the Bush policies. In fact, the 700 billion bailout that he supported could have been his first opportunity to show his Maverick style by opposing it. Not only did he backed it but he also backed the added 140 billion dollars of pork that his own party injected on the original plan in order to pass the bill the second time around. McCain had the chance to live up to his campaign promise to cut the pork and he flip flops and goes ahead endorsing this pork ladden bill. He should be ashamed!!

It obvious that the people in this country are more interested in party politics instead of truth. The Keating 5 that is being brought up the investigator was on the Media Channels today to tell everyone that McCain was found not guilty and should not have even been put in with the group. He did not even break ethics laws. This is something that Obama is trying to deflect and put people off balance and not look at him more closely. Do you know that Obama has told Planned Parenthood the first thing he will do is sign "FREEDOM OF CHOICE" which means every law ie: partial birth abortion, parental notification, born alive infant protection act. Any state or federal law will be wiped out with the stroke of his pen. Abortions for everyone. LOOK IT UP. Another thing how about GLOBAL POVERTY ACT. Every heard of it. So no we do not know anything about this man. I am a registered Democrat and I never imagined. McCain has seemed like a doddering old man throughout this campaign. Only the boomlet caused by Palin, before the country fully realized what an embarrassing airhead she is, gave the McCain campaign ANY energy at all. It's obvious that voters are way too terrified to entrust the economy to either an old man who seems like a hapless, erratic gambler, OR a young woman with as much economic expertise as one could rightly expect of a hockey mom in lipstick. I'm 65, and I've never seen a Republican ticket in my life that was anything like as ludicrous in both slots as this one. Sure, W was a joke, but Cheney, for all his evil and incompetence in Iraq, at least LOOKED nefariously competent and scary during the two W campaigns, never ridiculous. Now BOTH candidates are the constant butts of scathing humor all over the country.
