No Friend of Solar Power

Started by washingtonindependent · 9 months ago

During the first presidential debate, McCain said that “No one in Arizona is against solar” as he championed alternative energy development. People in his home state say the senator has not been helpful in developing its most abundant resource -- sunshine. ... Continue reading »

  • Not nearly as scary as Obama's hundreds of millions of contributions from foreign citizens and organizations. But ,he was nice enough to say "thank you", by making a "non-political tour" to EU and the Middle East!
  • Boy are you out of touch with reality. The contributions to the Obama Campaign are a matter of public record. That makes you simple minded or an outright lier.

    Which is it?
  • Re Obama's fundraising tour in Europe....it's also where McCain went, too, to raise money. Do you know how many Americans live in Europe? We have the State Dept, the military, the U.N., news correspondents, expats, etc....
  • If McCain is so detrimental to the population of Arizona, how come they keep voting for him?
  • If you folks could stop whining about not getting enough subsudies and start producing competative energy, we would all be better off. If you can't compete at these oil prices, you never will. Nuclear power, coal, oil, natural gas they can deliver. Put up or shut up!
  • Like oil isn't subsidized?
  • Listen up and face reality---coal and oil are FINITE and both will soon. WE HAD better transition now. Coal and oil both get corporate welfare while we taxpayers clean up the mess. Get your head out of the coal dust and realize that coal energy--just like oil now--will continue to RISE!

No one can own the wind and sun-I want real energy independence-a solar car- a solar lawn mower.
Get your knuckles off the ground -coal and oil are 19th century and it is time to move to the 21 century.

  • Hmm, McCain lives in one of the sunniest states of the nation but doesn't support this future technology. Instead he screams all the time "drill, drill, drill".
What does this say about the character of this alleged maverick?
  • It shouldn't be a surprise that politics isn't keen on solar energy -- because the energy would be available in a region, the west and southwest, far from most long-established manufacturing (see T. Boone Pickens comments
  • Juan McCain hasn't been helpful in getting anything for Arizona except for reservation gambling (an outside interest of McCain's I might add) and illegals. He is a self-serving politician. Sign me a registered republican in Arizona who will NOT vote for Juan McCain. PS: He can't even control the southern border in his home state, how can we depend on him to secure the United States? I can also tell you why he has been reelected - lots of Hispanic voters in Arizona (remember McCain's amnesty plan and the fact that he has looked the other way on border issues) and there hasn't been anyone that has put up a strong enough fight for his seat.
