IF the recruiter indeed presented that selling point to the ex-captain, he/she misspoke when he/she invoked the name of our president-elect.

The Army Reserve has long offered, under certain circumstances, deployment deferrals to individuals who are leaving active duty.

Did you even call the Guard or Reserve to check out this story before you ran it?
