The Washington Independent: McCain Hearts War After All

Thanks, Spencer, for riffing on this.

The McCain camp has been sending out one of these videos a day, all part of a desperate bid for attention, and a recognition that his bio is the best thing they have going for them.

I'm just finishing a story on how bad McCain the speech-maker is -- no smooth voiceovers here.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment on this. I watched the web video and it made me ill. John McCain's monotonous, soft spoken, "glad I could help" speech is brain-numbing. I believe we will turn into a nation of glazed eyed robots if we have to listen to him for 4-8 years. All Americans honor McCain for his service and captivity in Viet Nam, but he has shamelessly traded on this ever since he got home. He believes the country owes him anything he wants because of his military service. His first job when he got home was with a business owned by his new wife's family; then he decided to run for public office, first as a representative and since then, as a senator..so he has been paid by the taxpayers ever since.

He has voted for a torture bill, and he has not signed on to a bill supporting a GI bill for Iraq veterans. How dare he? These young people were lied into believing the war was just, and John McCain was one of the first to sign on to the president's bizzare reasons for going to Iraq. Send him home...he is too old to be running for president, and I should know. I am 78, and very healthy, but for the past 8 to 10 years I have noticed changes in my life, and they have not been positive.
