  • I wouldn't really matter if they announced a date, Obama/McCain/someone-else will pull the troops out eventually, before the date most likely.

  • The US is building at least 11 permenant bases in Iraq. Withdrawl from Iraqi territories will mean moving troops onto bases in Iraq. Us troops will be in Iraq indefinitely. This was one of the goals of the Iraq war, to gain a permanent presence in Iraq.
