  • what about extraordinary rendition? We could dress Yoo and Rumsfeld and the rest of the gang in orange jump suits and ship them off to Syria or Iran, and be done with it.
  • the real danger of a McCain presidency is that the courts will become even more beholden to the president than they are already. Not just the Supreme Court, but ALL the federal courts...
  • The only way the United States can regain credibility in the world is to set up a truth commission or allow for legal redress for these victims. Perhaps a new Obama presidency can move this process forward....
  • Great article, very thorough and well written. Very interesting that the Second Circuit is looking again at this extraordinarily important issue. Let's hope it arrives at a just result. There seems to be little openness in the current administration, to say the least. Providing claimants with a legal recourse is critical to obtaining information about the extent of the allegations and holding individuals accountable.
  • I think it is time for other nations to take a page out of the US book and simply kidnap all those individuals right off the streets of America and try them in other countries for their crimes. It would be good to hear Bush rant and rave that only the US gets to do those sorts of things. I can hear him now "Who do these others think they are?"
