Started by washingtonindependent · 9 months ago

What do the McCain campaign and the Bush administration have in common?
Neither one likes The New York Times’ columnist Maureen Dowd much. The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz includes this little nugget in his piece today about the media circus surrounding Friday’ ... Continue reading »

  • Thanks for the tip. I just wonder why Dowd is being singled out. It's not like lots of other people aren't trashing Palin.
  • I think Axelrod would be more accurate and fair than Maureen Dowd could be to McCain camp.
  • Just another indication of what the McCain/Palin ticket promises if elected.........a continuation of the secrecy, vindictiveness and non-tolerance we've already experienced for the past 8 years of the Bu$h/Cheney administration. Wake up America!!!!!
  • I used to try to read Dowd's articles. I really, did. But I would have to give up on them half-way through because she writes like a friggin' Hollywood gossip columnist, only the "celebrities" are politicians. So, one day, I see she's going to be on George Stephanopoulis' Sunday morning show. Since I'd never seen her "in person" so- to-speak, I had to tune in - who is this woman? She sat there looking stoned (seriously!) and barely joined in the discussion. When she did have something to say, she spoke in a very simplistic manner that reminded me of characters in the movie "Dazed and Confused". Needless to say, I don't even try to read her articles anymore.
  • Dowd is funny, clever and a partisan Obama apologist. Dowd goes to Alaska to find any bit of dirt she can dig up on Palin but ignores the mountain of trash in Chicago on Obama. We are treated to the lurid details of the pregnant teenage daughter of Palin but are somehow spared the ins and outs Obama's pal Tony Rezko and Obama's adventures as Chairman of the Illinois Senate's Health and Human Services Committee.

    Talk about audacity. Oy.
  • He should have removed her from the plane at 20,000 feet!
  • Sen McCain and Gov Palin more of the same as Pres Bush and VP Cheney.
