The Washington Independent: Attorney: Keating Five Demonstrated McCain’s Integrity

He may have been legally cleared of corruption charges, but McCain is absolutely guilty of resisting any kind of regulation. Back then, just as earlier this year, McCain has fought against the regulation and oversight that would have prevented the current mess.

Mccain admitted of his poor of judgment then. Why it should be cleared now. People are crazy. If he doesn't want to be accused of his past - he should do the same for others. This doesn't mean Obama's relationship with Ayers should not be investigated. However, it is smear to accuse that an 8 year old then was palling with terrorist.

O.J. was cleared of murder charges too, but how many of us actually believe he had nothing to do with it? McCain, you're an idiot for pulling these punches now. You're not only gonna lose this election, your reputation will never be able to make a comeback after this.

This does support McCain's position that he reaches across the aisle to get things done in Washington.

I remember Dowd and I remember how sad and apologetic all these high livers were as they said it wouldn't happen again and ....as they scrambled out the door with my aunt and uncles savings on the way back to thier many homes of which they knew not how many.

This is just a delay by Obama. In fact it has not even started yet. Obama has twenty years of liberal corruption under his belt. Is that the best you can do Obama? Maybe a little ACORN in your stocking?

I think that the important question is "What did McCain learn from the Keating Five?"

He clearly did not learn that deregulation of the S&L industry which cost thousands their savings and pensions was a bad thing.

He clearly did not learn that deregulation of the Finance Industry which is costing millions their 401k and pensions and savings, is a bad thing.

He has even found ways to cheat his own Campaign Finance Reform.

How can we reward a man who was unable to learn a thing from what he has described as "his most horrible personal event"?

I say we defeat McCain in 2008.

A closer inspection of Gov Palin's expense accounts as both Mayor of Wasilla? and as Gov of Alaska could be illuminating.
